Abdul Rahman Manhal
Age 14 years old
Martyr DateNovember 5, 2023
Abdul Rahman Manhal, 14 years old, full of joy and playfulness, lived a life of play and adventure, wandering across the Gaza Strip from north to south. He slept and stayed in everyone’s homes, making him beloved by all. He was social and his nickname was “Al-Marrah” (The Fun).
Abdul Rahman was truly quick; he won most of the competitions. He excelled in organizing his life and was always at the forefront of everything except studying. Aboud, the middle brother, was different in appearance and thinking. What he offered was his hatred for studying or school; his life goal was to become a parkour coach.
We were notified of the evacuation from the Sands neighborhood. We left during the shelling and moved from Gaza to a more southern area. Abdul Rahman was not afraid of shells or warplanes, and it was difficult for him to stay at home for long. He would go out every day to meet his needs and did not fear war or death.
The next day, a tower in Nuseirat was bombed, and Abdul Rahman was near the explosion. His body was completely burnt, about 90%. He tried to endure the pain for a whole week, but fate intervened. On November 5, 2023, he succumbed to his injuries and was martyred.
