Ahmed Abu Asad
Martyr DateOctober 21, 2023
“In case I become a martyr, I want to look neat and presentable.”
Ahmed Abu Asad, Asil’s twin.
Ahmed was completely different from Asil in every way. He was a lively, energetic, and spontaneous child. He loved football and as soon as he arrived home from school, he would change his clothes and head straight to the streets of the neighborhood to play soccer. He never missed any matches in the well-known leagues and would always attend them. He constantly dreamed of becoming a professional football player. His father always told him, “Ahmed, you must study so that you can succeed in life when you grow up.” But his uncle would say, “I didn’t know that Ahmed wouldn’t grow up. I wish I had let him play however he wanted.”
Two days before his martyrdom, Ahmed went to the barber, styled his hair, and said, “In case I become a martyr, I want to look neat and presentable.”
On October 21, 2023, Ahmed, his sister Asil, and their mother were martyred in an Israeli airstrike on their house.
