Alaa Subh Al-Hour

Alaa Subh Al-Hour, who is 30 years old, works as a counselor at a government school. He is married and has two children: Shaima, who is four years old, and Mohannad, who is two years old.

Alaa played a significant supporting role for his mother and sisters after his father’s death. Recently, after rebuilding his house that was completely destroyed during the 2014 war, he hoped to provide warmth for his small family. However, the shells fired by the occupation destroyed this hope and deprived him and his family of feeling safe in their home.

Alaa’s wife, originally the daughter of a martyr, lost her father when she was a child. Now, she bears the responsibility of caring for their children who share in the same suffering of their father’s absence after his martyrdom. Alaa was killed in an Israeli shelling on his home in November 2023.
