Ashraf Al-Kurd, who was praised by all the people of Jabalia, served as the principal of Al-Rifai School for over 25 years. He played a crucial role in educating and guiding generations of students. His wife, Maryam, studied English literature, and her dream was to perform Umrah (a lesser pilgrimage to Mecca). She fulfilled this dream eight months before her martyrdom.

Their son, Noor Al-Kurd, 25 years old, was a student majoring in physical education. He was determined to become the best goalkeeper and had a great passion for football. Their daughter, Meer, 17 years old, would always say, “Next year, you will see me as a medical student.” She was very intelligent and loved studying.

Rital Al-Kurd, 10 years old, excelled in school. Her dream was to become a teacher like her father.

On the night of Friday, December 22, 2023, they were martyred in an Israeli airstrike on their home, while their son and three girls survived.
