Bilal Jadallah
Martyr DateNovember 20, 2023
The martyr journalist Bilal Jadallah,
The chairman of the board of Beit Al-Sahafa Foundation in Gaza, Bilal was courteous and cooperative with everyone. He was a fatherly figure and a friend to all. His institution was one of the most important journalistic establishments in Gaza, regularly producing reports on the reality of media freedoms and violations by the Israeli occupation. His foundation also contributed significantly to training and graduating numerous journalists.
During this war, Bilal contributed by dispatching new journalists to the field, some of whom had no prior media experience. Due to Gaza’s difficult circumstances and its severed connections, Bilal found those whom he could entrust with a camera because the truth must never cease and must continue to be conveyed.
While Bilal’s family moved to the southern part of Gaza seeking safety, he remained in Gaza despite the challenging conditions and the surrounding danger for 43 days to cover the events. On the 44th day, he decided to join his family, but he was martyred by the Israeli army on his way to southern Gaza.
