Dr. Ahmed Jarbou

The martyr Dr. Ahmed Jarbou studied medicine at Al-Qasr University in Egypt’s Ain Shams University in 2020, specializing in orthopedics. He returned to Gaza on October 4th after 8 years of studying abroad. There’s a beautiful video of his reception by his mother after the long absence.

He worked at the Abu al-Rish Children’s Hospital. He used to tell his friends about his intention to switch to the emergency department for Gaza’s sake, to benefit people more. He volunteered at the Shifa Hospital, helping many with love, kindness, professionalism—qualities well-known about him. He was on his way to his family to take a brief rest when an artillery strike hit their building in Sufatawi. His father was injured, his uncle martyred, and his son also passed away. His family didn’t know exactly where he was, whether still in the building or at the hospital. They searched for him for hours until, after pleading, they found his remains behind their demolished building.

He was martyred in an Israeli artillery strike on their home on November 10, 2023.
