Those who knew Dr. Bassem Mahdi, a well-known figure among the people in Gaza, describe him as always having a simple and humble spirit. Everyone agrees on his kindness and humility among his community. He always added beauty and humor to the gatherings of his loved ones, friends, and family, making people who knew him cherish his presence among them.
Dr. Bassel Mahdi was martyred along with his family in an Israeli airstrike targeting his clinic in the center of Gaza City on November 11, 2023.
إِنَّا ِلِلَّٰهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ
Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un
