Dr. Enas Mahmoud Al-Hajj

Dr. Enas Mahmoud Al-Hajj, an emergency physician at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah. Her child, Hassan Al-Nuweiri, was three and a half years old. He was beautiful, intelligent, and resembled his parents in everything. He aspired to become a doctor, but he became a martyr.

On the first day of the war, it was supposed to be Hassan’s first day of kindergarten. He bought new clothes, slept with his backpack and toys, and was happy about this day. But his joy was stolen in an instant.

Enas was six months pregnant and was eager to know the gender of her unborn child. She was preparing for the Palestinian board certification in Family Medicine.

On Sunday, October 29, 2023, her colleague Dr. Duaa Awad, who was also martyred, mourned her hours before her martyrdom. Enas, along with her son Hassan, her unborn child, and other family members, were martyred, while her husband Dr. Ali Al-Nuweiri, an orthopedic surgeon, was injured at the hands of the Israeli occupation.
