The martyr Eileen Abu Odeh
My name is Eileen Abu Odeh, and I was killed along with 30 members of my family after Israeli warplanes targeted our home. My mother had waited for me for a long time, nearly eight years, expecting me to come into this world after my older sister, the martyr Yasmeen Abu Odeh. I loved my mother, and my mother loved me dearly, but Israel did not spare any time for my mother to love me even more.
What was my fault to be killed in this atrocity? What was my mother’s fault to be deprived of seeing me, her eldest, in front of her eyes? What was the fault of Gaza’s children to die and be deprived of playing and laughing with those we love?
Israel killed me and my family on October 19, 2023.
إِنَّا ِلِلَّٰهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ
Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un
Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed, to Him we return.
