“Wake up, Baba, I brought you the biscuit.”
The martyr child, Firas Al-Ghaff.
Firas was displaced with his family to Khan Younis. He wanted to eat a biscuit, so his father went to get him a date-filled biscuit. Filled with hope, he left with the expectation of returning with it for his son. Moments later, the house they sought refuge in was hit by an Israeli airstrike, and he found his child martyred.
He placed the biscuit next to his lifeless body and spoke with pain, saying, “Wake up, Baba, I brought you the biscuit.”
Firas was martyred in an Israeli airstrike along with his mother and seven others on December 28, 2023.
إِنَّا ِلِلَّٰهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ
Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un
Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed, to Him we return.
