Hala Abu Asad.

Hala Abu Asad was a mother of eight children and a grandmother of four. She was a teacher of Quran recitation rules, a beloved and patient woman, and a fighter since the first day of our lives.

“She worked hard to build a home and provide us with the best education. She succeeded in raising a doctor, an engineer, and a teacher.”

I took a picture of my mother a week before the war. I was joking with her, saying that when she dies, we will use this picture. She responded confidently, ‘Yes, make sure to use it, my daughter.’ I told her, ‘No, Mom, maybe we will use my picture first.’”

Hala, “Um Bashar,” alongside her twin children, Ahmad and Asil, were martyred on October 21, 2023, at 8:00 in the morning in their home, which was targeted by Israeli shelling. Hala left this bleeding world after waiting for several hours due to the long queue of the wounded on that day.

“She recited the Quran while in pain in the hospital until her soul ascended to the heavens.”
