Martyr: Jamal Saleh Al-Kheiri

The martyr, Jamal Saleh Al-Kheiri:

Jamal was the founder of the Palestinian Karate Union in the Gaza Strip, considered the first person to learn and teach karate under the guidance of a Japanese instructor.

Throughout his life, Jamal Al-Kheiri was known as a righteous person, characterized by commitment, honor, a strong work ethic, and a steadfast adherence to principles.

At the beginning of the year, he triumphed over one of the most dangerous types of cancer, skin cancer, and thankfully recovered completely. His famous motto was, “Cancer will not defeat me.”

He was a passionate grandfather, adoring his grandchildren and willing to sacrifice himself for them. His tears were always ready to fall if anyone hurt his grandchildren. His last act before his martyrdom was watching his granddaughter Kenzy play in the garden.

On October 21, 2023, Jamal Al-Kheiri was martyred, and his granddaughter Kenzy was injured, losing her right hand due to an Israeli airstrike on Gaza.

إِنَّا ِلِلَّٰهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ

Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un

Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed, to Him we return.
