Mohammad Zaheer Hamou

“He used to write stories about martyrs without knowing he would be among them”

Martyr Mohammad Zaheer Hamou, a fourth-year student majoring in English literature at the Islamic University, was an extremely ambitious person who loved life, and his smile never left his face. He was the spirit and joy of the group, loving and helping everyone, never harming anyone he knew or didn’t know.

Excelling in his studies, he aimed to pursue his master’s studies outside the Gaza Strip. He was like the soul that represents our home, and we couldn’t live without him.

During the final days of the war, Ahmed volunteered with the ‘We Are Not Numbers’ group affiliated with the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor. Through this, Ahmed wrote numerous stories about the martyrs. Unfortunately, Ahmed didn’t know that his story would be one of these tales.

Ahmed remained at his home in the Zaytoun neighborhood until the Israeli occupation bombed his house, and he was martyred with his family on November 23, 2023.
