The martyr Mohammad Zaher Hamou

A student of English literature at the Islamic University, this was his final year in his academic journey.

His classmate says, ‘Mohammad was the spirit of our group and always brought joy. His laughter was contagious, and he loved to help everyone. He never left anyone upset, very respectful and polite, a really good guy who worked hard for himself. He had plans to travel abroad to pursue a master’s degree outside Gaza.’

He volunteered in the program ‘We Are Not Numbers’ and wrote many stories.

Mohammad refused to evacuate his home in the Zaitoun neighborhood in Gaza because he knew that Israel was lying about safe zones, and all places in Gaza were unsafe.

Mohammad and his family were martyred in an Israeli airstrike on their home on November 24, 2023.”
