Nada Al-Dahshan
Martyr DateNovember 21, 2023
The martyr Nada Al-Dahshan.
Assil Yaghi wrote a farewell to her friend, Nada, on Facebook:
“Nada’s greatest fear was the feeling of loss, she constantly described it as her only fear. The world was fair to her regarding that fear, never letting her taste it. It made her depart with her parents, but it didn’t grant her justice in her dreams and wishes, ending it before fulfilling a single wish or dream. She used to tell me, ‘I won’t accept this year to end without going for Umrah; that was her big wish. She was about to start practicing pharmacy and engage in the job market, but her strong love for knowledge made her unreasonably tense. She started thinking about applying for scholarships abroad while in her last semester at university. Nada didn’t live anything, never left Gaza, never experienced the feeling of working and having an independent salary. She won’t see Ahmed Mansara outside the bars, won’t hold her daughter and name her Leila. She won’t see me loving for the first time after convincing her that love is the most beautiful feeling. Her studies were always more important than anything else, even in the past months as she started taking heart medication. I always used to say to her, ‘Have mercy on yourself; you’re smarter than the doctors.’ I can’t believe it and I don’t want to believe it. I won’t forgive her death at this age, although the feeling of dying at a young age was always with her. I won’t forgive the death of her dreams. A hashtag for your noble sacrifice, a hashtag to ask you about my medications and give me all your knowledge. Farewell, Nada.”
“Nada was martyred in an Israeli airstrike on her home on November 21, 2023, along with her father and mother.
