Nadia Al-Rees

The martyr Nadia Al-Rees:

Nadia graduated as an engineer and received an award for inventing an electric ladder for people with mobility disabilities. However, due to the blockade on the Gaza Strip, it was difficult for her to work in her field. Therefore, she worked as a teacher in a nursery and later became the nursery director.

As a nursery director, she cared for the nursery children as if they were her own. Through her Facebook posts, she made sure to warn parents about not considering certain places dangerous.

She never complained about living in Gaza, and she had no intention of leaving Gaza, even though she could have lived with her father, who holds American citizenship. However, she didn’t do so because she always had a deep sense that Gaza was her homeland.

Nadia went with her husband’s family to the southern Gaza Strip in search of safety. When they arrived in the south, the Israeli occupation bombed them, including Nadia and her children, on October 25, 2023. The airstrike killed nine others along with her.
