“Sabreen was extremely ambitious, confident that she could achieve anything and excel in our field. She worked hard and even took summer courses to enhance herself in everything. She was loved and close to everyone, quickly finding her way into the hearts of those around her.”

Her friend, Rawan Atallah, wrote:

“She left me on October 23, after consoling me about the killing of my uncle in our last conversation. She departed, leaving me to face our future alone. The last time I saw her was three days before the start of the war. We had planned to have breakfast at a café near the university. Today, there is no university, no Sabreen, and no café.”

“I couldn’t say goodbye to my lifelong friend or see her. Whenever I remember Sabreen, it still surprises me that after her name, I say, ‘Rest in peace.’ It still weighs heavily and is difficult for my ears. It’s still hard for me to believe that Sabreen is no longer here, Sabreen whom I used to see every day.”
