Martyr: Sa'id al-Tawil

“Rest assured, we are under the protection of Allah in all circumstances.”

These are the last words of the martyr journalist “Sa’id al-Tawil”.

Sa’id was one of the most famous journalists in the Gaza Strip, known for his morning news bulletin delivered in colloquial language (“News on an Empty Stomach”). He was the editor-in-chief of the Fifth News Network, a PhD researcher in political media, and a lecturer in digital media studies.

Among his words: “We strive as much as possible to maintain the professional and confident transmission of the media message, while protecting the internal front and fully supporting and endorsing the efforts of the battle’s heroes because we are the rightful bearers of truth.”

Journalist Sa’id was martyred in an Israeli airstrike that targeted a group of journalists near the Gaza Port on October 10, 2023.

إِنَّا ِلِلَّٰهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ

Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un

Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed, to Him we return.
