Martyr Suleiman Tarazi, “Abu Jameel”

Suleiman Tarazi was a dentist, married, and a father of two.

Suleiman lost his mother at an early age and was determined to become a successful person for her, and to be a big brother to his siblings.

As he said, he achieved his goal. Suleiman became one of the most successful dentists in the region, an ideal husband and father.

During the bombing, Suleiman shielded his children, protecting them for more than 16 hours. They searched for him until they managed to pull him out from under the rubble. Not only did he protect his son, but he also volunteered throughout the past days to serve all those who sought refuge in the church.

On October 19, 2023, Suleiman Tarazi was martyred, and his wife Leila was seriously injured. Their sons Jameel and Jad were also injured due to the Israeli bombing that targeted the St. Porphyrios Orthodox Church in Gaza.
