The last thing Yafa posted: “My name is Yafa… What scares me the most is the mention of my death as a number in the occupation’s targeting, among the increasing figures that are hard to count. They say, ‘A young woman and others martyred in a Zionist targeting of a residential area.’ I am not just a number; at 24, I have friends, memories, and a lot of pain.

I am Yafa from Gaza, writing under bombardment with the enemy’s tank nearby. My words might be absent from you. Know that I will present my case on the Day of Judgment for those I’ve exposed with their betrayals and for the nations who have grown accustomed to submission. Glory be to the One who detested your obedience and thus weakened you, making you among those about whom it was said, ‘Stay with the stayers.’ Shame on you!
